Abstract: Biophotonic techniques are growing in rapid rhythms enabling the monitoring of subcellular structures and non-invasive theranostic interventions in cancer and autoimmune diseases. The integration of Biophotonics with nanotechnology and biosensors brings a revolution in the micro- and nano-world with new optical tools. Among them, optical tweezers revive as a potential tool for tracking cells behavior and probing interactions forces between cells, cells-biomolecules and cells-nanoparticles. In this review we aim to exhibit the state-of the art advances of the Biophotonics in the diagnostic and therapeutic field, and the role of optical tweezers.
