VOTING AND GENDER IN ARGENTINA: AN ANALYSIS FROM ELECTORAL GEOGRAPHY ; VOTO E GÊNERO NA ARGENTINA: UMA ANÁLISE A PARTIR DA GEOGRAFIA ELEITORAL ; VOTO Y GÉNERO EN ARGENTINA: SU ANÁLISIS DESDE LA GEOGRAFÍA ELECTORAL

Between 1999 and 2007, the analysis of the gender gap in voting behavior in Argentina reveals complex and regionalized dynamics. Although, at the national level, the differences in voting patterns between women and men are not quantitatively significant, specific patterns emerge linked to particular geographic contexts. Women tend to favor moderate political forces with republican values, such as those represented by the Alianza led by De la Rúa in 1999 and the candidacies of Elisa Carrió in 2003 and 2007, with a notable female bias in regions such as the Pampas area and the Metropolitan Region of Buenos Aires. These findings highlight the absence of a uniform pattern in the gender gap and confirm the presence of spatial heterogeneity in some candidacies. This suggests that the gender gap in voting behavior responds to geographically contextual effects, partially tied to the process of political territorialization. The incorporation of local spatial analysis tools allows for capturing these heterogeneities and underscores the importance of considering subnational contexts in studies of electoral behavior. ; Entre 1999 e 2007, a análise da diferença de gênero no voto na Argentina revela dinâmicas complexas e regionalizadas.
