      Introduction : Patient education is the basement in management of patients with chronic disease. General pratitioners get an important part to play in the primary care where a lot of chronic patient are taken in charge. A lot of studies show that residents are not well trained despite national programs, in this special field. Purpose : This survey gather expectations of Grenoble University’s young doctors trained in general medecine. Method : Qualitative survey run by semi-conducted interviews by focus group and individual interviews between July and September 2017 in Grenoble, Chambéry and Annecy. Results : Thirty seven residents have been interviewed. They wanted a formation similar to patient education, both theoretical and practical. Indeed, they mentionned that a form of teaching could be by courses and role-play. The intention was to increase their communication skills to improve the general practitioner/ patient relationship. Multi-disciplinary was considering as enhancement. Patient became an expert of his disease and actively contributed to healthcare. Conclusion : Expectations of Grenoble general practitioner residents are similar to patient education training aims. Develop a formation from this results could promote patient education in primary care. ; Introduction : L’éducation thérapeutique du patient est le fondement de la prise en charge des maladies chroniques. Le médecin généraliste possède un rôle primordial dans une offre d’ETP de plus en plus ambulatoire. De nombreux travaux pointent du doigt les lacunes de formation à l’éducation thérapeutique des internes de médecine générale malgré les directives nationales. Objectif : Ce travail cherchait à recueillir les attentes des internes de médecine générale de Grenoble pour leur formation à l’éducation thérapeutique.
