Secuencia constructiva del edificio de La Comunidad y criterios de conservación y restauración

The present paper refers to works of archaeological research, conservation, and architectural restoration at the building known as La Comunidad (the community) in the pre-Hispanic city of Huexotla. This building presents serious deterioration, some of it structural. Nevertheless, as a result of previous interventions, part of the architectural sequence is visible, although this was neither correctly described nor interpreted. Our excavations defined these constructive stages and others, all of which allowed us to determine the time periods and constructive stages of the building. Moreover, based on the architectural description we made of the building, we infer its possible function. ; El presente artículo se refiere a los trabajos de investigación arqueológica y de conservación y restauración arquitectónica en el edificiode La Comunidad. Este edificio presentaba graves deterioros, algunos de ellos estructurales. Sin embargo, el edificio mostraba –producto de intervenciones anteriores– parte de la secuencia arquitectónica, misma que no estaba descrita ni interpretada de manera correcta. Nuestras excavaciones definieron estas etapas constructivas y otras más que nos permitieron definir las épocas y las etapas constructivas que tiene el edificio. Por otra parte, con base en la descripción arquitectónica que hacemos, inferimos la posible función de este edificio.
