Abstract: This article focuses on solving a problem little addressed by the historiography of the religious fact in Colombia: how has theology been taught and studied in the country? To answer this question, it was necessary to approach it from the following structure: (1) expose and understand the theology that was taught in the 20th century in Colombia; (2) address the Javeriana University, as an example of the relationship between this theology and Colombian society; (3) analyze the teaching given in the Faculty of Theology of the Javeriana. Taking as a case study the main Faculty of Theology in the country, it is possible to understand the relationship that exists between the way in which the clergy is formed and the way in which the Church acts before society. From there we conclude that if the theology taught was of a traditional and fundamentalist nature, the Church will act in the same way, paradoxically, in a time of strong theological changes. ; Este artículo se enfoca en resolver un problema poco abordado por la historiografía del hecho religioso en Colombia: ¿cómo se ha enseñado y estudiado la teología en el país en la primera mitad del siglo XX? Para responder esta pregunta se procede a (1) exponer y comprender la teología que se enseñaba en el siglo XX en Colombia, (2) abordar la Pontificia Universidad Javeriana como ejemplo de relación entre esta teología y la sociedad colombiana y (3) analizar la enseñanza impartida en la Facultad de Teología de dicha institución. Al tomar como caso de estudio esta facultad se logra entender el vínculo que se da entre la manera en la que se instruye el clero y la forma en la que la Iglesia actúa ante la sociedad. De ahí se intuye que si la teología enseñada fue de corte tradicional e integrista, del mismo modo será el actuar de la Iglesia, paradójicamente, en una época de fuertes cambios teológicos.
