      The theoretical essay presents correlations between socio-emotional skills and emotional self-regulation. It is proposed that emotional self-regulation comprises a path that facilitates emotional issues with adolescents. The essay has six parts: the first characterizes adolescence and mental health. The second talks about the term ‘socio-emotional’ in educational legislation. The third deals with the concept of socio-emotional skills and the challenge for effective implementation. The fourth presents an overview of Social Cognitive Theory, self-regulation, emotional self-regulation, academic anxiety and test anxiety. The fifth presents correlations between socio-emotional skills and emotional self-regulation and possibilities at school. The sixth deals with final considerations. ; El ensayo teórico presenta correlaciones entre habilidades socioemocionales y autorregulación emocional. Se propone que la autorregulación emocional constituye un camino que facilita las cuestiones emocionales en los adolescentes. El ensayo consta de seis partes: la primera caracteriza la adolescencia y la salud mental. El segundo habla del término “socioemocional” en la legislación educativa. El tercero aborda el concepto de habilidades socioemocionales y el desafío de su implementación efectiva. El cuarto presenta una visión general de la Teoría Cognitiva Social, la autorregulación, la autorregulación emocional, la ansiedad académica y la ansiedad ante los exámenes. El quinto presenta las correlaciones entre las habilidades socioemocionales y la autorregulación emocional y las posibilidades en la escuela.
