    • Abstract:
Within wireless optical communications it is found LiFi technology, based on the IEEE 802.15.7 protocol, its operation stands out for using visible light to send information to a receiver in charge of transforming the variations of the same digital signals. With the new development of this technology, the researcher experimented LiFi in indoor location applications for mobile devices together with a physical prototype, which helped obtaining data and results. The research was carried out through the experimental method, in first instance a bibliographical compilation and a study on LiFi technology were carried out. Then the base design of a mobile prototype was developed and finally, the assembly of the test scenario based on LiFi technology with 16 LED transmitters using binary coding with 3 synchronism bits and 5 data bits was carried out. The LiFi receiver is based on the ESP32 module together with an LDR light sensor which decodes the received signal to determine the position of the mobile in real time. Finally, the viability of the prototype's operation was verified by repeating the experiment with different trajectories. The results were analyzed graphically through a heat map according to the frequency of the mobile's position repetition. The variability of each repetition was visualized in color intensity; the lighter the color, the higher the frequency of repetition and the darker the color, the lower the frequency of repetition, just as black is used for null frequencies of repetition.
