      The Ecuadorian government uses TikTok as a communication tool to strengthen its image of power and authority in the 2024 referendum and referendum campaign. Through the “theatricality of power,” the videos disseminated on this platform deploy a visual and discursive strategy aimed at legitimizing the government’s role, representing the military and police as protectors of the citizenry and justifying the use of state violence as a resource to guarantee public security ; El gobierno ecuatoriano utiliza TikTok como herramienta de comunicación para fortalecer su imagen de poder y autoridad en la campaña del referéndum y consulta popular de 2024. A través de la “teatralidad del poder,” los videos difundidos en esta plataforma despliegan una estrategia visual y discursiva destinada a legitimar el rol gubernamental, representando a militares y policías como protectores de la ciudadanía y justificando el uso de la violencia estatal como recurso para garantizar la seguridad pública.
