The Mexican Nation built upon a colonial project that the Spanish monarchy imposed over a mosaic of cultures who habited the American continent, and that entailed a "painful" process implicating the submission and exploitation of the native population, baptized as "indigenous". However, in this process, there was also the convergence of two civilizations, with some common characteristics and values, that, in "contact", shared a marked social hierarchical organization in their government systems, as well as a profound religious sense, that influenced their political organization and allowed their integration in one social body during three hundred years: the New Spain. ; La nación mexicana se fincó a partir de un proyecto colonial que la monarquía española impusosobre un mosaico de culturas que habitaban en el continente americano y que conllevó un “doloroso”proceso al implicar el sometimiento y explotación de la población originaria, bautizadacomo indígena. Sin embargo, en ese proceso también confluyeron dos civilizaciones con algunascaracteristicas y valores comunes que, en su “contacto”, compartieron una marcada jerarquizaciónsocial en sus sistemas de gobierno, así como un profundo sentido religioso que influyó en su organizaciónpolítica y permitió su integración en un mismo cuerpo social a lo largo de trescientosaños: la Nueva España.
