Abstract: This dissertation problematizes the Pomeranian culture contributions in the process of acquiring knowledge, especially that of mathematics. The emphasis of the investigation is on learning situations, which promote human development and are related to the social group, the child's contact with the culture of their community (VIGOTSKY, 2012). This is a qualitative research, the methodology of which is anchored in the studies carried out by Lüdke and André (2012), and it was developed with students from the 1st to the 5th year, at the multi-grade Maurício Cardoso School located in the rural area of São Lourenço do Sul Municipality, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. For data collection it has been used a number of instruments such as: interview and narratives, document analysis and questionnaire. In order to identify the historical and cultural aspects related to the Pomeranian colonization of the municipality and the Maurício Cardoso School, it has been sought information in documents: act of creating the school, registration of lands property on which the school was built, appointment document of the first teacher school, in addition to bibliographic review. Questionnaires and visits to the homes of Pomeranian families were carried out to observe these residents‟ ways of life and to identify traditional recipes of the Pomeranian culture consumed in the community. Among the theoretical assumptions employed it is possible to highlight Ethnomathematics, D‟Ambrósio (2013), inspired to work with everyday knowledge, presenting mathematics with real situations, in a contextualized way. In order to bring culture and mathematical learning together, it was carried out in the classroom, the preparation of three traditional recipes, where students could handle objects and ingredients, work collaboratively and reflect on the process, these actions are consistent with the methodological intervention of Resnick's Creative Learning (2020).
