THE LANDSCAPE AND THE TEACHING OF GEOGRAPHY: SOME ARGUMENTS ABOUT THE SOCIOSPATIAL CHAGNES OF PORTO NACIONAL-TO ; A PAISAGEM E O ENSINO DE GEOGRAFIA: CONSIDERAÇÕES SOBRE AS TRANSFORMAÇÕES SOCIOESPACIAIS DE PORTO NACIONAL-TO

The aim of this research developed is to reflect on the geographical category Landscape in the city of Porto Nacional-TO. Therefore it was recovered the history of the municipality at the beginning of the century. It was also investigated how the category is represented by 12 high school students at Centro de Ensino Médio Professor Florêncio Aires. It was carried out four meetings hith the students where they had to presente their perceptions of the Landscape from some discussions and drawings. It was also carried out an interview with a representative of a transnational company that operates in agribusiness, of soy commodities. The above mentioned interview was great importance once we consider soy production to be the great transformer of the Cerrado landscape of Tocantins. ; O objetivo do artigo é apresentar pesquisa realizada sobre a categoria geográfica Paisagem no município de Porto Nacional-TO, na qual resgatou-se a história do município neste início de século e investigou-se como a categoria é representada por doze estudantes do Centro de Ensino Médio Professor Florêncio Aires. Foram realizados quatro encontros com os estudantes onde apresentaram suas percepções sobre a Paisagem a partir de debates e desenhos. Realizou-se, também, uma entrevista com um representante de uma empresa transnacional que atua no agronegócio de commodities de soja. A referida entrevista se fez importante uma vez que consideramos ser a produção de soja a grande transformadora da Paisagem do Cerrado tocantinense.
