    • Abstract:
MEd (Education for Curiculum Studies), North-West University, Potchefstroom Campus ; As times are changing, and becoming more digital orientated, teachers need to look at the methods they use to prepare their lessons and present the content to the learners. Technology plays an important part in the world around us and during the pandemic, teachers had to quickly adapt to using technology during their classroom instruction. The technological skills are crucial at university level, because the necessary training is needed for pre-service teachers to know how to use technology effectively in their lessons. This participatory action learning and research (PALAR) project focused on collaborating with pre-service teachers to provide guidelines for preservice teachers on enhancing their digital competencies in their lesson planning and presentation phases. Six pre-service teachers took part in the research project and held nine interactive meetings to look at ways to actively solve the problem at hand. Data analyses were done by coding verbatim transcriptions of group meetings with ATLAS.ti, photovoice and coding reflective journals. These led to the providing of guidelines for pre-service teachers in using technology in their teaching moment during their lesson presentation. ; Masters
