Abstract: Ngebel Lake Tourism is a nature-based tourist location that lasted 31 years, located in Ngebel District, Ponorogo Regency. The adaptation behavior of the community around the Ngebel Lake tourism is very interesting to study more deeply. The formulation of the problem is any effort and constraints as well as how the adaptation behavior carried out by the community around Telaga Ngebel tourism to overcome these obstacles. The research method used was ethnography with the technique of extracting observational data and in-depth interviews with eight informants, namely the chairman of the BPD, chairman of the Object and Tourism Attraction Section, lake guard, three traders, two boat owners. In-depth interviews using interview guidelines. The data analysis technique uses qualitative analysis with Adaptation Strategy theory. The results showed that the Ngebel Lake environment was used as a tourist location demanding the residents of the surrounding community to take advantage of their potential. There are two businesses around Ngebel Lake tourism, namely merchant business and boat rental business. Traders face rain and their adaptive behavior by making buildings semi-permanent and not selling when it rains all day. Boat business faces obstacles in maintaining boat engines and bumping anchors, adaptation behavior is self-taught and is responsible for connecting anchors.
