    • Abstract:
Photographs of the BJC band ; I don't know if I have a particular era that I like any more than any of the others, nor if I have a particular type of music that I prefer. I think I could find things I would enjoy listening to from any of the six periods. I don't favor any particular one as far as listening or buying records. Perhaps that's due to the fact that I teach it. If it were a hobby perhaps I would have centered on one rather than all of them. The best part for me is the actual directing rather than the method classes or the other groups that are related to it. The hardest thing for a teacher of music, at all age levels, is getting students motivated to where they'll want to learn the music and want to put it together in a good fashion. You have to push to a certain degree or some would never practice. There are reasons for this which are probably quite obvious. Of the various age levels and groups that I've worked with I prefer the one that I am with right now. It is the most receptive and easiest to work with.
