    • Abstract:
Background: the Access to Care Service (SAS) was implemented in response to rising unplanned care demand and avoidable emergency visits, in coordination with Primary Care Teams (CPTS).Objective: to assess knowledge, use, and perceptions of general practitioners (GPs) in the CPTS Nice-Ouest-Vallée (NOV) regarding SAS06, and to identify barriers and facilitators to its uptake. Methods: a cross-sectional survey was conducted from March 2024 to February 2025 among 73 GPs. Data were analyzed descriptively and comparatively (corrected Chi2, Fisher’s exact test; p < 0.05).Results: among 42 respondents (61.7%), 71.4% were aware of SAS06, but only 40.5% were providers, restricted to office consultations. Participation was associated with CPTS membership (p=0.044) and group practice (p=0.029), but not with age, gender, teleconsultation, or home visits. Reported benefits were emergency department relief (85.7%) and improved access to care (64.3%). Main barriers included perceived inefficiency (80%) and office disruption (60%). Facilitators were financial incentives (40%), solidarity, and diversification of activity. Providers emphasized the need for better software interoperability. Conclusion: despite high awareness, SAS06 uptake remains limited. Organizational rather than individual factors drive participation. Strengthening technical integration, clarifying engagement procedures, and CPTS support appear key for broader adoption.
