Abstract: The objective of this work is to review the presented tasks of Lithuanian state maturation exams, investigate the changes as well as discover the causes of the downward trend and make recommendations to teachers and task makers. The literary part discusses the development and importance of mathematical science, provides general information and discusses the situation in Lithuania and the topic of mathematical science. The literature part is completed with an overview of the program, course and evaluation of the Lithuanian mathematics state maturation exam. The research part discovers the reasons for the poor results in 2020 and 2022. Examining the problems reveals the most common mistakes and discovers the mathematical area that does the worst. At the end of the paper, the results are summarized and recommendations are presented.
