      Poverty and violence have always stigmatized Colombia's indigenous communities. Lack of access to basic needs, armed conflict and other situations of violation of their human rights have affected the quality of life and mental health of indigenous peoples (Ruiz-Eslava, 2015). It is therefore important to deepen knowledge about important aspects of their daily lives, enabling them to understand from their perspective what their reality looks like, in order to generate contextualized strategies that improve their quality of life. The aim of this thesis was to assess the perspectives of members of the Wayuu community on three social issues in Colombia: resolving interpersonal conflicts, defining human rights and political amnesties.Method. In the first study, 159 indigenous people over the age of 18 took part, and were presented with a series of hypothetical stories describing an everyday situation in which a garden had been damaged by domestic animals belonging to a neighbor. It was then determined whether, depending on certain factors, the participants would or would not forgive the person who had damaged the garden. Three factors were taken into account: the severity of the damage caused, the attitude of the pet owner and the pet owner's apology.In the second study, 95 indigenous people from Colombia's Wayuu community took part. They were presented with 24 hypothetical stories concerning the realization of human rights. The stories were composed of four factors: the level of social protection enjoyed by the country's citizens, the level of freedom they enjoy, the objective level of equality between the country's citizens and the level of respect for privacy.The third study involved 130 adults, who were presented with 12 amnesty-related scenarios. The stories involved three factors: a) the level of detail the amnesty seeker was prepared to reveal, b) whether or not the seeker had asked for forgiveness, and c) the severity of the punishment suffered by the amnesty seeker.Results.
