Abstract: Cilj ovog diplomskog rada bio je prikazati primjenu GIS-a u turizmu. Kroz ovaj rad osvrnuli smo se na opću primjenu i koncept GIS-a, obradili podatke, prostornu analizu i baze podataka. Zatim smo obradili turizam kroz povijest, turizam u Hrvatskoj i Istri, da bismo na kraju kroz primjere iz turističkog sektora pokazali široku primjenu GIS-a u svrhu prostorne analize i donošenja strateških odluka. Kroz primjere smo pokazali da je primjena moguća u svim područjima i procesima koji se dotiču turizma. U primjerima i projektu, korišteni su alati: QGIS, ArcGIs i Excel. ; The purpose of this Master’s paper was to demonstrate the application of geographic information systems in tourism. Through this paper, we have reviewed the general application and concept of GIS, processed data, spatial analysis, and databases. Then we have reviewed to tourism through history, tourism in Croatia and Istria and finally, through examples from the tourism sector, we demonstrate the widespread use of GIS for the purpose of spatial analys and make a strategic decision. Through examples, we have shown that application is possible in all areas and processes related to tourism. In the examples and projects Unknown Istria, tools were used: QGIS, ArcGIs and Excel.
