Teksty reklamowe z II połowy XIX i początku XX wieku, takie jak ulotki, inseraty, cenniki, papier firmowy czy plakaty, są niezwykle cennym i niewykorzystanym w pełni źródłem do badań praktyk komunikacyjnych dawnej wspólnoty handlowej. Celem niniejszego artykułu jest opisanie tego, jak w XIX-wiecznym i przedwojennym Krakowie członkowie miejskiej wspólnoty handlowej identyfikowali obiekty swej lokalnej działalności gospodarczej, nazywając je w określony sposób. Postaramy się także wyjaśnić pozajęzykowe przyczyny ich powstawania i funkcjonowania we wspólnocie handlowej. ; Advertising texts from the second half of the 19th and early 20th century, such as leaflets, inserts, price lists, company stationary, or posters, are an extremely valuable yet underutilized source for the study of communication practices of the commercial community in the past. This article aims to describe how, in 19th c. and pre-war Cracow, the members of the city’s commercial community identified the objects of their local economic activity by naming them in specific way, and furthermore, it attempts to explain the extra-linguistic reasons for the creation of these names, and of their functioning in the commercial community.
