Este artigo demonstra o poder transformador da literatura e do processo de escrita por meio do romance A Cor Púrpura, de Alice Walker. Ele sintetiza as violências de gênero e racial vividas pela mulher preta que, por muito tempo, foi silenciada e invisibilizada. Através da intimidade da narrativa epistolar do livro, é possível perceber as violências que se propagam silenciosamente, herdadas de uma sociedade racista e sexista. Apontamos na história a realidade das personagens e mostramos o poder de transformação através do reconhecimento. Percebemos a importância da voz dada pelas autoras dessa onda de produção literária à liberdade da mulher preta e à luta por seus direitos de existir em uma realidade melhor que a englobe. ; This article demonstrates how self-writing can be transformative and freeing in oneself. In the book A Cor Púrpura, by Alice Walker, she synthesizes gender and racial violence experienced by black women, who for a long time were silenced and not seen. Through the intimacy of the book's epistolary narrative, it is possible to perceive the violence that propagates silently, inherited from a racist and sexist society. We will point out in the story the reality of the characters and show the power of transformation through self-recognition. We acknowledge the importance of the voice given by the authors of this wave of literary production to the freedom of black women and the struggle for their rights to exist in a better reality that encompasses them.
