Abstract: This research discusses the effectiveness of law enforcement against residence permit violations by foreign nationals at the Ponorogo Immigration Office as well as the factors that influence their level of compliance with residence permit rules. In this context, the Immigration Office holds a key role in managing residence permits, with responsibilities of granting, supervising, and enforcing laws related to residence permits. Factors such as legal awareness, local economic conditions, and cross-sectoral cooperation affect foreign nationals' level of compliance with residence permit rules. Effective law enforcement involves prevention, detection, and enforcement strategies, with strict enforcement to create a deterrent effect. The importance of cooperation with external stakeholders, such as local communities and non-government agencies, as well as a holistic approach that includes socialization, education, technology utilization, and cross-sectoral cooperation, are key in improving the effectiveness of law enforcement and creating an enabling environment for foreign nationals to comply with residence permit regulations.
