Trembleya phlogiformis is a species from Cerrado, used in the mining communities as natural dye to engrain wool and cotton used in hand looms. This work presents the morphological and the anatomical study of the leaves and of the young stems of this plant. The botanical material was collected in the Serra dos Pireneus, Pirenopólis, Goiás, Brazil. The Macroscopic characterization was performed with the naked eye and with a stereoscopic microscope. For the anatomical study the sections were free hand and were stained with Alcian blue/safranin 9: 1 and chemical tests with ferric chloride, Steinmetz reagent and lugol. T.phlogiformis is a shrub with sticky, simple, cross-opposite leaves; flowers arranged in dicasio with free petals ranging from pink to white coloration. The leaf is hypostomatic with omocytic stomata, epidermis coated with thin cuticle and multiseriate glandular trichomes and glandular capitate trichomes. These results constitute the first anatomical description of T. Phlogiformis and contribute to the identification of the species. ; UFG ; Trembleya phlogiformis é uma espécie do Cerrado utilizada nas comunidades mineiras como corante natural para tingir lã e algodão empregado em teares manuais. Neste trabalho foi realizado o estudo morfológico e anatômico das folhas e do caule jovem dessa planta. O material botânico foi coletado na Serra dos Pireneus, Pirenopólis, Goiás. A caracterização macroscópica foi realizada à vista desarmada e com auxílio de microscópio estereoscópio. Para o estudo anatômico os cortes foram realizados à mão livre e submetidos à coloração com azul de Alcian/safranina 9:1 e testes histoquímicos com cloreto férrico, reagente de Steinmetz e lugol. Trembleya phlogiformis é um arbusto com folhas com coloração verde escuro, com superfície serosa, simples e opostas cruzadas; flores dispostas em dicásio com pétalas livres com coloração variando do branco ao rosa.
