Religious education and theology in Spain: Integration challenges and the german model ; Enseñanza religiosa y teología en España: Desafío de integración y el modelo alemán

The article analyzes the recognition of ecclesiastical degrees within the educational system, with particular attention to their civil validity and the teaching of religion in public schools. Through a comparative analysis of current regulations in Spain and Germany, the study examines legal agreements and ecclesiastical directives governing this matter. In addition to documentary analysis, the research incorporates a comparative empirical investigation based on interviews and questionnaires conducted with academic and religious authorities, allowing for the collection of first-hand information on the integration of theology within the university system. The findings reveal regulatory progress in Spain, although challenges related to university autonomy persist. In contrast, Catholic theology in Germany is fully integrated into the state university system. The German model is proposed as a reference for Spain, highlighting the need for a pluralistic approach that respects both confessional tradition and the demands of the contemporary educational framework. ; El artículo analiza el reconocimiento de las titulaciones eclesiásticas en el sistema educativo, con especial atención a su validez civil y a la enseñanza religiosa en centros públicos. A través de un análisis comparativo de las normativas vigentes en España y Alemania, se examinan los acuerdos legales y las directrices eclesiásticas que regulan esta materia. Además del análisis documental, el estudio incorpora una investigación empírica de carácter comparativo, basada en entrevistas y cuestionarios dirigidos a autoridades académicas y religiosas, lo que ha permitido recoger información directa sobre la integración de la teología en el ámbito universitario. Los resultados evidencian avances normativos en España, aunque subsisten desafíos en materia de autonomía universitaria.
