Abstract: This study carried out within the Doctorate of art and architecture, in the line of theory and history of architecture and the city in Colombia and Latin America of the National University of Colombia, addresses the influence that the hygienist movement in Latin America and Colombia had on the interpretation of concepts such as sanitation, health and public hygiene in the urban habitat, where cartography and geospatial literature do not reflect settlement processes and the appropriation of urban space and habitat. Relationships of causes that occur around diseases and contextual thoughts are developed and established at a social, cultural, political, economic, scientific and urban architectural level, with ways of organizing the territory and the city, from an interdisciplinary approach to the analysis of this phenomenon, developing from the local administration an approach to progress and development in the city of Bogotá at the beginning of the 20th century. ; Este estudio realizado dentro del Doctorado de arte y arquitectura, en la línea de teoría e historia de la arquitectura y la ciudad en Colombia y América latina de la Universidad Nacional de Colombia, aborda la influencia que tuvo el movimiento higienista en Latinoamérica y Colombia en la interpretación de conceptos como saneamiento, salubridad e higiene pública en el hábitat urbano, donde la cartografía y la literatura geoespacial no refleja procesos de asentamientos y la apropiación del espacio y el hábitat urbano. Se desarrolla y establecen relaciones de causas que se dan alrededor de las enfermedades y los pensamientos contextuales a nivel social, cultural, político, económico, científico y urbano arquitectónico, con formas de organizar el territorio y la ciudad, desde un enfoque interdisciplinario del análisis de este fenómeno, desarrollando desde la administración local un enfoque de progreso y desarrollo en la ciudad de Bogotá a comienzos del siglo XX. ; Peer Reviewed
