Abstract: The international regulatory frameworks related to policies of access to education for young people and adolescents deprived of liberty determine guarantees for their consequent compliance. Therefore, the objective of this research was to characterize the scientific publications that consider the trends in legal and educational frameworks of the Juvenile Penal System in Latin American countries, Spain, and the United States. The present study presents a bibliometric type of research, an analysis consisting of 50 articles resulting from research and presented in indexed databases of Scopus, Ebsco, ProQuest, and ScienceDirect. Likewise, texts published between 2018 and 2021 were examined. In relation to the characteristics of the manuscripts, it was found that the applicability of this type of research in the field of educational innovation is necessary since it allows us to understand and expand not only the bibliographical vision but also the state of educational processes in judicial detention centers for minors. Finally, it is highlighted that one of the thematic areas little worked on, but of great relevance, is the reintegration into the productive sector of young people deprived of their liberty, as well as the consolidation of laws, plans, and programs that consider not only the variables psychosocial but also the effective reinsertion in the socio-educational, economic-productive field and in the family. ; Los marcos normativos internacionales relacionados con políticas de acceso a la educación de jóvenes y adolescentes privados de la libertad determinan garantías para su consecuente cumplimiento.
