    • Abstract:
      Climatic conditions mean a risk that may impact the production of broilers depending on the vulnerability of facilities and birds. The efficiency of evaporative cooling systems is limited by predictable external weather conditions. The probability of climate change, heat waves and high temperatures, in the coming years, resulting in greater risks to broiler producing regions. Decision support systems for predicting of weather events allow decision making and emit alerts to farmers and poultry integrations. The results found in this thesis are presented in scientific articles. The first article is a bibliographic review that seeks to characterize the vulnerability of facilities and broilers at high temperatures; the second article seeks to quantify the evaporative cooling efficiency in broiler facilities on hot days; the third article seeks to predict the vulnerability of broiler facilities to the risk of extreme heat creating a fuzzy model that can be used in an alert systems. With predictions of climate change and increase in heat waves, conditions for broilers farming may face greater risks. The constructive characteristics influence the broiler environmental comfort in hot conditions. On days with temperatures above 30 °C, the temperature reduction potential in evaporative cooling systems can attenuate the thermal discomfort but do not guarantee to maintain the temperatures inside the comfort zone. The fuzzy system developed for the prediction of the vulnerability of farming thermal environment can help in decision making for mitigation and construction of personalized alert systems which indicate the vulnerability degree from the facility in hot events. ; Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior - CAPES ; As condições climáticas representam um risco que pode impactar a produção de frangos de corte dependendo da vulnerabilidade das instalações e das aves.
