Abstract: People make trade to gain better profit, and trade only happened when there is a product. Without product there is no commerce. Here transportation and all aspect beneath it play significant role to distribute product to the market. In the other word commerce is absent without transportation. Here we will discuss how transportation influence commerce as social economic activity from regional scope until national scope, how they connect one region to the other one by land, sea, or air, how people make living from transportation, how public transportation and economies activity linked, how safe in using our public transportation and also discuss how transportation connected with other social point of view such as human behavior, mobility, diversity of ethnic groups, etc. The scale of discussion in this paper will focus on Indonesian transportation activity in macro scale who related to the government policy as well as provincional policy in autonomies era.
