Abstract: The article presents issues related to European consumers protection in the context of digital transformation. In this context, the role of digital technologies is described, and more specifically digital platforms, the Internet of Things, Artificial Intelligence and cloud services. The benefits of their application in the everyday life of consumers are explained. At the same time, some of the risks these technologies pose to consumers are revealed. Emphasis is placed on issues related to consumer protection against unfair commercial practices in digital space. The protection tools in this direction are indicated. Special attention is given to EU priorities for comprehensive consumer protection in the context of digital transformation and the challenges of the Digital Decade.
