    • Abstract:
      The expansion of student’s school hours is underlined in the Brazilian National Education Plan (PNE) accordingly to the Law No. 13.005, of June 25, 2014. It points out as a goal "offering full-time education for at least 50% (fifty percent) of public schools to meet at least 25% (twenty five percent) of basic education students."(Brazil, 2014). In 2013, the Divinópolis Board of Education (SRE Divinópolis), Minas Gerais (MG), the expansion of students school hours already covers 53 schools (40% of the total) in order to meet the guidelines of the Ten Years Educational Plan of Minas Gerais, shown in the Law No. 19.481/ 2011 and in the guidelines of the State Department of education (SEE). In this context, this dissertation presents the results of a research aimed to analise the expansion of students school based on the Full-Time Education Project (Proeti) carried out by the SRE Divinópolis. In addition, this work aims to identify challenges for management teams to shorten the views over the full time education project to the specifics needs of each school context. In this sense, through the qualitative methodology, descriptive and interpretive approach, it uses documentary sources to characterize the case study. Interviews with people from the two selected schools provide reflections on the school context of this policy. The theoretical support of authors and studies on public management and on public policy formulation broaden the point of view of the study in order to support the present an Educational Action Plan (PAE) conceived to improve the expansion of school hours in the SRE Divinópolis.
