Demographic dynamics in India ; Les dynamiques démographiques de l’Inde

International audience ; The increase in the population of India is mainly due to the natural movement, but do not omit the migration, some of which have stimulated this increase while others were able to brake. However, population growth in India is very uneven across twenty-eight states and seven territories, as evidenced by the recent intercensal results; they are changing the geography of the stand. Besides these geographical differences, significant gender inequalities we find that allow to approach the status of women in India from quantitative data. ; L’augmentation de la population de l’Inde s’explique essentiellement par le mou-vement naturel, mais il ne faut pas omettre les flux migratoires, dont certains ont stimulé cette augmentation tandis que d’autres ont pu la freiner. Toutefois, la croissance démo-graphique de l’Inde est fort inégale selon ses vingt-huit États et sept Territoires, comme l’attestent les derniers résultats intercensitaires ; ces derniers font évoluer la géographie du peuplement. Outre ces disparités géographiques, on constate d’importantes inégalités de genre qui permettent d’approcher la condition féminine en Inde à partir de données quantitatives.
