      The dispositionalist and contextualist analysis of the school manual Educação moral, noções de sociologia e direito usual, by Elpídio de Abreu e Lima Figueiredo, published in 1917 is carried out. It is probably the first Brazilian school manual of Sociology for secondary education. This book sought to comply with the municipal legislation of Rio de Janeiro, 1916, which introduced the discipline ‘Moral education, notions of sociology and usual law’ in the Normal School of that municipality. The analysis turns to the school manual highlighting the author as a plural actor, inserted in various social fields and endowed with a stock of habitus (Lahire, 2003) that helps to understand, to some degree, the production of his work and, consequently, the History of Sociology teaching in Brazil. Thus, there was a proposal for teaching Sociology intertwined with Morals, Psychology and Law, without a theoretical affiliation and, in many moments, an encyclopedist. The research highlights the importance of the work and its characteristics for the understanding of the historical bases of the teaching of Sociology in the country. ; Se realiza el análisis disposicionalista y contextualista del manual escolar Educação moral, noções de sociologia e direito usual, de Elpídio de Abreu y Lima Figueiredo, publicado en 1917. Probablemente sea el primer manual escolar brasileño de sociología para la educación secundaria. . Este libro buscaba cumplir con la legislación municipal de Río de Janeiro, 1916, que introdujo la disciplina ‘Educación moral, nociones de sociología y derecho usual’ en la Escuela Normal de ese municipio. El análisis se dirige al manual escolar que destaca al autor como un actor plural, insertado en varios campos sociales y dotado de una reserva de habitus (Lahire, 2003) que ayuda a comprender, hasta cierto punto, la producción de su trabajo y, en consecuencia, la enseñanza de la Historia de la Sociología en Brasil.
