Relatório de Estágio do Mestrado em Análises Clínicas apresentado à Faculdade de Farmácia ; This report refers to the curricular internship carried out within the scope of the Master's Degree in Clinical Analyses of the Faculty of Pharmacy of the University of Coimbra. The internship took place at Avelab - Laboratórios Médicos de Análises Clínicas between December 2022 and June 2023. Clinical analysis positions itself as an area of major importance in the diagnosis, treatment and follow-up of patients. The growing demand for laboratory tests fosters the development of the sector, with a great investment in laboratory equipment that speeds up analytical procedures, however, laboratories remain heavily dependent on qualified technicians to ensure the quality of the results. In this report, a brief description of the processing of samples in the laboratory routine is given, from their reception, through triage, sample preparation and analytical processing, to the validation of the results obtained. The laboratory areas of Biochemistry and Immunology will be briefly addressed, with only the analyses performed in these areas being mentioned, while the Hematology and Microbiology fields will be developed in greater detail, focusing essentially on the methodologies used and their principles. However, in these more in-depth areas, a synthetic theoretical background will also be given on the application of each test performed in a clinical diagnostic context. Finally, this report concludes with the report and discussion of some clinical cases of interest that arose during this internship. ; O presente relatório é referente ao estágio curricular realizado no âmbito do Mestrado em Análises Clínicas da Faculdade de Farmácia da Universidade de Coimbra.
