Abstract: The study deals with human rights in education (macro) as a principle for a study of human rights in school (micro). It is a walk through the history of human rights and their evolution over time, in order to better explain the progress acquired and the current directions that human rights are winning. For this, use it to support the legislation, statements and literature specific authorities committed to addressing human rights. Taking into account the profes-sional activities related to education and citizenship has seized upon this work to ob-serve different realities in the socio-economic-cultural characteristics. The National Plan for Human Rights Education boosted the recent and necessary ways to address the issue in Brazil. In Uruguay, the Human Rights theme is constant in all segments beginning with the story, which is always reliving the moments, especially those ex-perienced in the military dictatorship. In the school curriculum Uruguayan studied, appears to asignatura Human Rights, the Brazilian school, however, there is no spe-cific form of this discipline, the issues are diluted in cross-cutting themes or other areas and / or disciplines. To explore these issues we carried out a qualitative study aiming to identify and describe teaching practices targeted human rights education in two schools located on the border, one in Brazil and one from Uruguay. The devel-opment of the research involved document analysis, observations and interviews with representatives of different segments that are part of the development and implemen-tation of pedagogical duties (teachers, supervisors, team policy, and students) at both schools. At the end the differences were evident in the way of dealing with HD in the school, and were the sharp regional and cultural influences of each place and each school.
