Abstract: Gender transversality refers to the integration and approach of the gender issue in a horizontal and interdisciplinary way in different areas, policies and social practices. Still in this sense, it seeks to promote the understanding of how social constructions of gender affect and are affected by different dimensions of life, one of which is public policies. Guided by the objective of seeking answers to public problems, this initiative is based on an attempt to reduce gender inequality. In this present work, the focus of the research is to analyze the planning of public policies for gender equality, with a focus on women, in Rio Grande do Norte. For this, we had multi-annual plans as our object of analysis, from 2012 to 2023, and we only used the concept of gender transversality. The three PPAs analyzed and the governments involved were: Rosalba Ciarlini (2012-2015), Robinson Faria (2016-2019) and Fátima Bezerra (2020-2023). The research methodology is based on exploratory research with documentary analysis. Based on the analysis of the Multi-Year Plans (PPAs), we sought to understand the following questions from the guiding matrix: 1) How were policies for women incorporated into these planning instruments? Were there differences between them? 2) In addition to specific programs and projects aimed at women, was a gender transversal perspective adopted in the preparation of PPAs? Was there a difference between them?
