Abstract: This study aims to find out the description of self-determination in Unimal students who study at Islamic boarding schools. This study uses a descriptive quantitative approach with univariate analysis which aims to describe the self-determination of Unimal students who study at Islamic boarding schools. The subjects in this study totaled one hundred and eighty seven college students with the simple random sampling method. The results showed that as 47,1% of Unimal students who attend Islamic boarding schools have high self-determination, meaning that some students who attend are motivated, happy to participate, and are independent so that students who attend are able to be optimistic in carrying out their roles as students and santri. Even though many Unimal college students have self-determination, there are also 39% of students who attend are classified as low self-determination. Judging from the gender category, women have higher self-determination than men. In the aspect of self-determination it was found that aspect of autonomy was the highest in measuring the sel-determination of Unimal students studying at Islamic boarding schools.
