This article aims to discuss the “Anticrime Package” created with the aim of minimizing the incidence of organized crime, corruption and violent crimes and analysis as changes promoted by Law 13.964 / 2019, especially with regard to the legítimate defense exercised by law enforcement officers. public security. In effect, this legislative amendment incorporated the sole paragraph in Article 25 of the Penal Code, providing that legítimate defense also applies in the case of the public security agent who repels aggression or risk of aggression to the victim held hostage during the practice of crimes. The study's problem involves the following question: is the alteration of self-defense, promoted by the anti-crime package, useful? For the development of the work, a qualitative research was adopted, with analysis of doctrines and bibliographic research. Collection of data in legal doctrines, rules and articles, concluded by the “uselessness” (unnecessary) of adding the sole paragraph to article 25 of the Penal Code, since the previous wording already contemplated the legítimate defense for all those obliged, including that public security. ; O presente artigo tem como objetivo discorrer sobre o “Pacote Anticrime” criado com intuito de minimizar a incidência do crime organizado, corrupção e crimes violentos e analisar as alterações promovidas pela Lei n. 13.964/2019 em especial no que tange à legítima defesa exercida pelos agentes de segurança pública. Com efeito, essa alteração legislativa incorporou o parágrafo único no artigo 25 do Código Penal, passando a dispor que também se aplica legítima defesa no caso do agente de segurança pública que repele agressão ou risco de agressão a vítima mantida refém durante a prática de crimes.A problemática do estudo envolve a seguinte indagação: a alteração da legítima defesa, promovida pelo Pacote Anticrime, é útil?
