PELATIHAN GRAPHICS DESIGN DASAR DENGAN SUBTANSI MATERI DESAIN BRIEF

Community service (PKM) is one of the tri dharma activities of higher education which should be an obligation for lecturers to empower the application of science and technology to the general public, especially those who are still struggling in traditional technology towards the era of modern technology. Al-Kahfi Vocational High School, located in Batu Alang Hamlet, Leseng Village, Moyo Hulu District, Sumbawa Regency, was the object of a team of lecturers from the Faculty of Systems Engineering (FRS) in implementing PKM which focused on teaching of basic graphic design for class X and XI students of the Informatics Department . Graphic design is a form of visual communication that uses text and images to convey information efficiently. Meanwhile, the substance of the basic material for graphic design is a design brief, namely a document of design treatise between the designer and the client which contains the scope of the project, timeframe for work, purpose of manufacture and details of costs. This document is very important and must be made jointly by the designer and the client at the initial consultation stage before the graphic design project begins. The ultimate goal of this PKM is expected to be able to motivate students to design and plan graphic design projects in a professional manner at local and regional competitions, one of which is to be able to appear in the annual competition of West Nusa Tenggara Province (NTB), namely the Student Competency Competition (LKS). ; Pengabdian kepada masyarakat (PKM) adalah salah satu kegiatan tri dharma perguruan tinggi yang sudah sepatutnya menjadi kewajiban bagi dosen guna memberdayakan penerapan ilmu pengetahuan dan teknologi kepada khalayak umum, terutama golongan yang masih berkutat dalam teknologi tradisional menuju era teknologi modern.
