O espaço físico das bibliotecas públicas escolares: entre o legal e o real ; The physical space of public school libraries: between the legal and real

The present study investigated four municipal public libraries of elementary school, in a city of Sete Lagoas, Minas Gerais, with the aim of presenting how the physical space of the school libraries are structured, in order to understand the operation and the reality of organization modes and uses of books in this environment. As a methodological proposal was applied a field research, in an exploratory feature, through images registration searching to know the collection, the physical structure, the operation and make a parallel with the school libraries guidelines proposed by official documents approaching school library aspects and its great importance in teaching and learning . The observations indicate that the physical spaces investigated have inadequate structures for the students’ attendance, indicators that show that these areas cannot be classified as school libraries, because they do not comply with the minimum required by official documents. ; O presente trabalho investigou quatro bibliotecas do ensino fundamental da rede pública municipal, de um município do estado de Minas Gerais, com o objetivo de apresentar o modo como se estrutura o espaço físico das bibliotecas escolares, a fim de se compreender o funcionamento e qual a realidade dos modos de organização e uso dos livros neste ambiente. Como proposta metodológica utilizou-se uma pesquisa de campo, de caráter exploratório, por meio de registro de imagens buscou-se conhecer o acervo, a estrutura física, o funcionamento e tecer um paralelo com as orientações sobre as bibliotecas escolares propostas pelos documentos oficiais, abordando os aspectos da biblioteca escolar e sua grande importância no ensino e aprendizagem. As observações realizadas apontam que os espaços físicos investigados apresentam inadequações estruturais para o atendimento aos alunos, indicadores que mostram que essas áreas não podem ser classificadas como bibliotecas escolares, visto que não cumprem com o mínimo necessário exigido pelos documentos oficiais.
