    • Abstract:
Conventional psychology has conceptualized the normative subject as the white heterosexual able-bodied male. This perspective has shaped the development of theory, research, methods, and findings within the discipline. Traditionally, feminist critiques have pointed to the ways in which this approach has disadvantaged women through invisibility and pathologization. Latterly, these critiques have extended to include constructionist analyses of the production and institutionalization of psychological knowledge.
