Abstract: Agents with a-glucosidase inhitbitory activity have been useful as oral hypoglycemia in patients with type 2, non-insulin dependent, diabetes melitus. Some extracts of different solvents from the seed of Momordica charantia L. were investigated. Preliminary results showed that the alcohol extract gives the greatest -glucosidase inhitbitory activity (IC50=31,25 àg/ml); chloroform extract is weakly and the etherpetroleum extract is inactivity. ; Các chất có tác dụng ức chế men -glucosidase đã được dùng làm thuốc hạ đường huyết bằng đường uống nhằm kiểm soát sự tăng đường huyết ở các bệnh nhân tiểu đường type 2 ? không phụ thuộc vào insulin. Cao chiết bởi các dung môi khác nhau từ hạt mướp đắng đã được khảo sát tác dụng ức chế theo cơ chế này. Kết quả khảo sát bước đầu cho thấy, cao cồn có tác dụng ức chế mạnh nhất (IC50 =31,25àg/ml), cao clorofom có tác dụng yếu hơn, trong khi cao ete petrol không thể hiện hoạt tính.
