    • Abstract:
      This article seeks to reflect on the dialogues that can be established between the bases of training for Theater Teaching and cultural practices of Popular Education, through the approach of teaching experiences carried out during the Degree Course in Theater at UFRN. Such experiences, in a university extension format, are close to the practices of popular educational action, in the way they are developed in Popular Education (FREIRE, 1976a; 1976b; 2020). From the same perspective, we bring Popular Education closer to the techniques and aesthetics of the Theater of the Oppressed (BOAL, 1975). This political-pedagogical partnership guides a possible strengthening of an education centered on respect for the reality of subjects in the learning process, that is, a dialectical, continuous and critical-creative education. Strategies for describing processes and critically reviewing experiences carried out in the classroom were the methodological basis used, based on “participant observation” techniques (MINAYO, 2002), based on a bibliographical review of authors fundamental to this discussion, such as by ARAÚJO (2005), BRANDÃO; ASSUMPAÇÃO (1983) and LIGIÉRIO (2013). ; O presente artigo busca refletir acerca dos diálogos que podem ser estabelecidos entre as bases da formação para o ensino de teatro e práticas culturais da Educação Popular, através da abordagem de experiências docentes realizadas durante o Curso de Licenciatura em Teatro da UFRN. Tais experiências, em formato de extensão universitária, se aproximam das práticas de ação popular educativa, na forma como são desenvolvidas na Educação Popular (FREIRE, 1976a; 1976b; 2020). Na mesma perspectiva, aproximamos a Educação Popular às técnicas e estéticas do Teatro do Oprimido (BOAL, 1975). Essa parceria político-pedagógica norteia um possível fortalecimento de uma educação centrada no respeito à realidade de sujeitos em processo de aprendizagem, ou seja, de uma educação dialética, continuada e crítico-criativa.
