Abstract: This paper focuses on empirically determining, through time series models, the effects of redistribution or concentration of Colombia's Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in relation to the Gini index during the period 1976-2021, and thereby linking it to the theoretical analysis conducted to date. Therefore, a literature review is carried out, moving from the general to the specific, defining what GDP and the Gini index are, and then outlining the theoretical relationship between the variables. This provides valuable information on the measurement of Colombia's economic growth and how the Gini index can directly and indirectly affect the country's GDP over time. Finally, empirical evaluations and analyses are conducted, leading to the conclusion of a negative relationship between GDP and the Gini index, where a higher Gini index is expected to correlate with lower economic growth. ; Este documento se enfoca en determinar de forma empírica, a través de modelos de series de tiempo, los efectos de redistribución o concentración del Producto Interno Bruto (PIB) de Colombia, en función del índice de Gini, durante el periodo 1976-2021 y, de esta forma, relacionarlo con el análisis teórico que se ha hecho hasta la fecha. Por lo tanto, se realiza una revisión literaria partiendo de lo general, a lo particular, definiendo que es el PIB, el índice de Gini y posteriormente se indica cual ha sido la relación teórica entre las variables, proporcionando información valiosa sobre la medición del crecimiento económico de Colombia y cómo el índice de Gini puede afectar de manera directa e indirecta al PIB de Colombia a lo largo del tiempo. Finalmente se realizan las evaluaciones empíricas y análisis correspondientes que permiten concluir a favor de la relación negativa entre el PIB y el Gini, donde a mayor Gini se espera menor crecimiento económico.
