      U radu je prikazana važnost biomimetike kao znanosti, kako se razvijala kroz povijest i kako su ljudi tisućama godinama pa sve do danas razvijali materijale i proizvode inspirirane prirodom. Također, objašnjeni su današnji ciljevi biomimetike kao znanosti te kako biomimetika zapravo pomaže u razvoju drugih znanosti. Opisani su biomimetički materijali koji se koriste za razvoj medicine, medicinske opreme, inženjeringa mišićno-koštanih tkiva te tehnologije. Na kraju rada, prikazani su načini reciklaže biomimetičkih materijala i mogućnost uštede energije. ; The paper presents the importance of biomimetics as a science, how it has evolved throughout history, and how people have been developing materials and products inspired by nature for thousands of years up to the present day. Additonally, it explains the current goals of biomimetics as a science and how biomimetics actually aids in the development of other sciences. Biomimetic materials that have been described are used in the development of medicine, medical equipment, musculoskeletal engineering and technology. Finally, in the paper are discussed some methods for recycling biomimetic materials and the potential for energy savings.
