    • Abstract:
Background: The INCLUSO Project aims to enhance the social inclusion of migrant communities through innovative educational practices, focusing on intercultural education, physical activity, and language learning among university students. This initiative addresses the pressing need for effective integration strategies in Europe, particularly in Melilla, Spain, which has a land border with Africa. Objectives: The INCLUSO Project aims to assess the impact of University Service-Learning (USL) interventions on students' prosocial competencies, critical thinking, and social commitment while promoting language acquisition and cultural understanding among migrant groups. The project evaluates the effects of USL in Intercultural Education, Physical Activity, and Language Learning, on both university students and migrant communities, focusing on inclusion and social justice. Additionally, it seeks to understand personal experiences and changes in attitudes. The project also aims to establish best practice indicators for USL interventions. Method: The project employs a longitudinal research design, involving a 10-week USL intervention where university students collaborate with migrant communities. Data collection methods include reflective journals, focus groups, and interviews, allowing for a comprehensive analysis of personal experiences and skill development. Results: Preliminary findings indicate that participation in the USL program significantly enhances students' social justice attitudes, critical thinking skills, and commitment to prosocial behaviour. Additionally, migrant participants report improved language skills and greater confidence in social interactions. The study highlights the transformative potential of Service-Learning promoting intercultural understanding and social inclusion, providing valuable insights for future educational policies and practices.
