Abstract: The Lato Sensu Distance Learning (EaD) courses offered by the State University of Minas Gerais (UEMG) still lack the tracking of its graduates. There are no tools that can be of use for the University to verify factors such as labor market insertion and the evaluation of post-graduate opportunities. In the search for an assessment model, the aim is to understand the history of the model in the University and the role of each actor in distance learning. Based on this knowledge, the aim was to generate data that would facilitate academic discussions and allow for a review of teaching practices in student education. To achieve this goal, documentary research was conducted in which legislation, public calls, meeting minutes, teaching programs, transcripts, diplomas, lesson plans, and documents available on the World Wild Network and the University Intranet were analyzed. Data analysis showed that, while the number of students had decreased, the number of course completers had more than doubled. Staff is more qualified, but the workload of teachers and counselors has increased. Even so, there has been a qualitative improvement in the offered courses, but the impact of this training on students' careers and market insertion needs to be evaluated. Keywords: Assessment.
