Abstract: Microbial invasion of the skin and underlying soft tissues, known as skin and soft tissue infections (SSTIs), contribute to considerable burden of disease worldwide (Kaye et al. 2019; Lozano et al. 2012). Knowledge about host factors contributing to SSTI risk is important to prevent the SSTIs.
