Abstract: This paper proposes a discussion about the role of undergraduate education to the construction of a Brazilian Journalists professional culture. It is based on a questionnaire applied to 119 students from the University of Brasília’s Journalism Program. The questions are related to the evaluation of the training received by the students and their vision about journalist labor market. The results highlight the fact that certain representations shared by the questioned students coincide with those traditionally attributed to journalists’ identity. They also refer to a movement of adjustment to the global transformations in Journalism Programs insofar as they seek to understand or anticipate changes that affect the labor market.
