Abstract: Objectives The article discusses the importance of the CSR concept and its application by organizations of different types and size. Based on the interviews, the activity of micro, small and large enterprises was evaluated on the example of the Lublin region in south-eastern Poland Material and methods interview method and literature research were used Results Practical Implication: the concept of Corporate Social Responsibility consistently implemented by companies can contribute to improving competitiveness and building an advantage over competitors. Changing social expectations seems to be the main reason why it is starting to bring tangible benefits to business activity. Conclusions A survey of a sample of more than 900 organizations shows that the range of implemented CSR activities is broad, with ecology, human rights, social engagement, fair market practices and organizational governance predominating. However, low awareness of the essence of CSR and its scope is a vulnerability on the way of CSR expansion in many companies.
