Abstract: On October 13th, 1951, Teodoro Ruiz Jusué traveled to Bogota. He had been sent by Josemaría Escrivá in response to requests from the Papal Nuncio as well as the archbishop of the capital of Colombia for the presence of Opus Dei in that country. Some months later, on February 17th, 1952, a second member, Aurelio Mota, arrived; on that day, the first center of Opus Dei in Colombia came into being. The article focuses above all on collecting in detail the difficulties encountered and the various measures taken to obtain these premises, which would allow them to develop their apostolic activities more widely and with greater dedication.
