Quelques formes et raisons de la guerre

Résumé La seconde moitié du 20e siècle confirme une tendance née antérieurement de négation de la guerre par éviction du mot du vocabulaire officiel et de la science politique, à l’exception de Raymond Aron et de quelques autres. La conjoncture bouleversée de ces dernières années doit cependant nous amener à analyser les phénomènes qui (dé) structurent la politique internationale, en particulier les guerres civiles et le terrorisme, pour apprécier les réponses qui leur sont données. La « grande stratégie » américaine constitue alors un objet privilégié d’étude par ses répercussions géopolitiques et diplomatiques et par la formulation renouvelée qu’elle donne de la doctrine de la guerre juste.
During the second half of the 20th century the word war has been evicted from the academic vocabulary, except for Raymond Aron and few other thinkers’political thought. Recent international upheavals should conversely trigger further reflection on the main causes of the current international disorder, such as civil wars and terrorism, with a focus on the kind of responses that are currently being given to these new risks. Within this framework, the American National Security Strategy and its geopolitical and diplomatic consequences are presented and viewed as a reformulation of the just war doctrine.
